1. Massive Announcement

We have an exciting announcement, and we want you to be the first to hear what it is.

We’ve always been on a quest to solve tomorrow’s audio challenges, and we have some big news to share on the Calrec booth in Hall 8, stand B57 at IBC in Amsterdam on Friday, 9th September at 12.30pm CET. We would love it if you could join us in Amsterdam for this announcement, but if you can’t make it, we are also holding an online event at the same time on Friday 9th September at 12.30pm CET. Register here to join us at either one.

Together we can find a better way of working.

2. Remote Production - RP1

Calrec’s 2U RP1 Remote Production Unit takes your favourite Calrec console anywhere in the world without ever leaving the studio. A remotely controlled processing engine like RP1 means dedicated control rooms can be used to mix feeds either on dedicated Calrec hardware or Calrec Assist from multiple remote venues. Remote production models produce more live coverage with minimal resources.

3. Remote Working - Brand NEW Assist

Calrec Assist is a browser-based interface that creates a virtual console for operators to mix live from a computer or laptop. It streamlines workflows, improves cost efficiency, and expands your coverage.

Calrec Assist provides comprehensive control for Calrec’s Apollo, Artemis, VP2 virtual production engine and Type R IP core and has been used extensively by a host of broadcasters – and now it’s even better, with a streamlined interface to help ease operators into more remote and distributed workflows.

4. Work Hard, Play Hard (with LEGO®)

It’s the smallest console Calrec has ever built, and although it doesn’t process any audio it’s definitely one of the most sought after.

Bowing to public opinion, we’ve created a Type R LEGO® kit so you can build your very own Type R console in the comfort of your own kitchen. Each limited-edition 200-piece kit comes complete with a step-by-step instruction booklet, and we’ll be having a draw for one of these exclusive kits every single day of the show.

Simply come and see us for a chat and make sure we scan your badge and we’ll let you know if you are one of the lucky winners – don’t worry, you won’t be added to our mailing list unless you opt-in. If you would like to hear about what’s new, gain access to FREE training and more then sign up to our Soundwaves newsletter here.

5. ImPulse - Up to four consoles on one IP core

Wherever you are on your IP journey, Calrec has you covered.

ImPulse is the most powerful audio processing engine on the planet with over 2,000 channels on a single core. It’s SMPTE 2110 native and is compatible with other Calrec consoles to provide an upgrade path for existing customers moving to an IP domain.

A powerful audio processing and routing engine with AES67 and SMPTE 2110 connectivity, and support for NMOS discovery and connection management, ImPulse provides a simple upgrade path for existing Calrec customers as they transfer to IP infrastructures.

6. Hybrid Working - Gateway

Not everybody is in the same place on the road to IP. Calrec’s Gateway can bridge the gap.

It provides an interface between a proprietary Hydra2 network and a full IP network so that broadcasters can work with Calrec mixers on an IP network, a Hydra2 network, or any combination of the two. Calrec’s Gateway can help any broadcaster to migrate to IP at whatever pace works.

Calrec customers can even upgrade to IP using their existing equipment; Calrec’s powerful and flexible ImPulse core can be added to existing control surfaces, and Calrec’s super-flexible Type R core can be used in a variety of ways.

7. Modular Mixer - Type R

Type R is an expandable and flexible IP mixing system for small TV and radio stations that uses soft panels to meet specific operator needs. Its three hardware panels can create a variety of system types, it uses Assist to mix in the cloud and it provides facilities for up to three independent mixers to hang off one system core.

It’s super-flexible and can be whatever you want it to be. It has been used as a remote console, in local TV news, community radio, internet radio, popup broadcast environment and on wider distributed networks.

Type R is an easy choice for broadcasters looking to invest in an IP infrastructure with one eye on future development. Its range of DSP options can be changed as required and upgraded on the fly, while new panels can be quickly added by plugging in over POE.

And don’t forget – come and make an appointment to see us and you could bag yourself a free Type R LEGO® kit.

8. Portable Mixer - Brio

Brio is a plug-and-play broadcast console which slots into any broadcast workflow.

It is easy to operate and has comprehensive built-in I/O. It is loaded with dynamics and delay on every path, has a huge internal router, multiple monitor outputs and is expandable for future growth.

Calrec’s Brio 36 Duet comes with internal Hydra2 connectivity, comprehensive built-in IO and 96 input channels as standard, while the Brio 36 Medley package adds a Dante 64 card or MADI I/O module, and an external Br.IO box with 24 mic/line inputs, 16 analogue outputs and 8 AES I/O.

9. Large Format Mixer - Artemis

Calrec Artemis console is an industry staple for those who want flexibility. It has an intuitive control surface that incorporates colour, touch and tactile controls and allows the operator to reconfigure it to reflect a variety of operating setups so it is always familiar.

Available in four packages, Artemis is as big as you need it to be, and no DSP sharing means all facilities are available on all channels at all times – that’s fully dedicated resources always available at all times on every single channel.

At IBC the Artemis will be part of a wider Hybrid Network alongside Brio, Type R, RP1, Assist and ImPulse.

Come on get hands-on with an industry workhorse!

10. People - Join us at The Golden Fleece
