Earlier this month we spoke with Bafta award-winning mixer Robert Edwards as part of the IABM‘s education programme and streamed exclusively for a network of university students across Europe and Russia.

The session gives advice on how to enter the world of Audio Engineering including how to find job opportunities, knowledge requirements, mentoring, and advice and tips from Robert’s 46 years of experience in the business. Robert also talks about the difference between mixing for broadcast and other forms of audio mixing, some of the challenges that it introduces, and how his red/green colour deficiency helped influence Calrec’s Apollo development. Robert used the first-ever Apollo back in 2007, and is still mixing on it today!

Make sure you check out Robert’s home set up which he has been using to mix live during lockdown about halfway through!
